Communications/Public Relations communicates the company's strategic vision both externally and internally; and generates awareness of the channel, driving tune-in to our programming and enhancing the image of our brands through media outreach. They connect with our audiences by telling compelling, balanced and profound stories that ultimately build brand advocacy. They draft press releases, pitch letters, tune-in alerts, programming notes, press strategies and more. These teams may also assist with talent press days, red carpet events and tentpoles.
Special Events produces off-air consumer and industry events for all Viacom channels. Events range from small executive dinners, holiday parties, to tentpole pre-parties/post-parties, conventions and festivals. These teams assist with event planning from start to finish, working on tasks ranging from venue research to event-related brainstorming (premium ideas, activations, etc.), and providing on-site support.
Public Affairs develops and manages multi-platform social change initiatives that empower the channels’ audiences to have an impact on the biggest challenges facing the nation. Through non-profit partnerships, charitable contributions, special events and employee volunteerism, Public Affairs is critical to advancing the causes and issues that are important to Viacom’s audience and employee base. They are charged with using the networks’ superpowers for good.
